| Why do you board 2 dogs
together and not cats? |
| |
One of the reasons we board dogs together and not cats is that we do not have many double pens for cats.
The other and main reason we do not like to board cats together is that cats boarding together are difficult to monitor. As most cats graze rather than eat their food in one go, it is impossible for us to tell whether both cats are eating or not.
So to ensure all animals are appropriately monitored we choose not to board cats in together. If you are adamant that you want your cats in together we will allow it on the condition that you sign an additional agreement stating that we cannot be responsible and cannot appropriately monitor food consumption and toilet habits.

| Why do you need a lead to
be left for dogs and a carry cage for cats? |
| |
The reason we need all animals to have safe restraining devices is for emergency evacuation procedures. We do not have the time to be looking for cages and leads for all animals in the case of an emergency. Please ensure all leads, collars & carry cages are in good working order!
If you do not bring in leads, collars and carry cages we will not board your dog or cat. For your convenience we do sell the items you need in our retail store at very competitive prices. |
| How long in advance do I need to book? |
| |
The more notice we have the better. We base staffing levels and food on site on future bookings, so we do need bookings in advance. We do not accept DROP IN’S.
Assuming that your animal meets the requirements generally a couple of days notice is all we need during a non peak period. During school holidays particularly Christmas we need several weeks notice.
We do take last minute bookings under exceptional circumstances for existing customers. |
| My animal needs injections at 12 hours apart, are you able to provide this? |
| |
The hours that we provide hands on care to your pets are from 8am to 5pm. From 5pm whilst someone is always on site, the animals do not get tended to overnight.
So if your animals needs medications at 12 hourly intervals, we are not able to provide that service. |
| Why do you close during the day? |
| |
When this business was purchased in 2006 we were open from 8am to 6pm 7 days a week. This meant that the core business of caring for the animals was not the priority. Staff had to be available for customers all day.
The only way we can provide the quality of care that we do, including playtime, bathing and the strict cleaning routine was for us to close during the day. It is impossible to provide a high quality of care to the animals when you having to be available to serve customers for 10 hours a day.
From 11am to 4pm we are very busy washing dogs, running playtimes, cleaning, doing laundry, monitoring health, feeding and preparing for the next day. Staff also need a lunch break as well. |
| Will you open outside of these hours? |
| |
We have a strict 'no customers' outside of 5pm and 8am. For many reasons including ensuring dogs are settled and not disrupted and so that staff have appropriate family time. Before you consider asking for a drop off outside or 5pm or before 8am – (would you ask e.g. Target to also open for you) – we are a business – not a hotel we do not check in 24 hours a day and we ask you to respect that.
Occasionally if someone is travelling we will open for a pick up or drop off between 11am and 2pm – but after 2pm we have a tight afternoon schedule so will not open the gates between 2pm and 4pm – If you urgently need us to open from 11am to 2pm you must arrange it by appointment in advance. |
